This isn't a flat wooden flag with a wave pattern painted on it. The entire flag face is carved into deep, flowing waves, creating real dimension, shadows, and movement that change as you view the piece from different angles.

Handcrafted American History

Inspired by the original 13 colonies and the founding of our nation, our 1776 Heritage Wavy American Flag features a circle of 13 stars surrounding a prominently carved 1776.

Each flag begins as solid hardwood and is individually CNC carved to create the flowing fabric-like appearance of a flag caught in the wind.

The contrasting European beech reveals its beautiful natural grain throughout the stripes, stars, and 1776 details, while the dark field creates dramatic depth and contrast.

A genuine walnut hardwood frame completes the piece, giving it a rich, furniture-quality appearance.

At 18" × 36", this is a substantial statement piece designed to become the focal point of a room.

What Makes This Flag Different

This isn't mass-produced wall décor.

Each flag is individually made in our Pacific Northwest shop using real hardwood and CNC carving techniques that create genuine three-dimensional depth.

The wave isn't an illusion—the wood itself is carved.

As light moves across the surface, the peaks and valleys of the carving create changing highlights and shadows, giving the flag a sense of movement that a traditional flat wooden flag simply can't reproduce.

Because we're working with natural hardwood, every piece has its own grain patterns, color variations, and character.

One of the first things you'll notice when viewing this flag from the side is just how much dimension is carved into the surface.

Rather than simply engraving lines to simulate folds, we machine the hardwood into a continuous series of flowing peaks and valleys.

The result is a flag that looks dramatically different depending on the viewing angle and lighting.

From straight ahead, it's a striking 1776 American flag.

Walk past it, and the carved waves come alive.

The 1776 Heritage Design

The 13 stars represent the original thirteen colonies that declared independence and formed the foundation of the United States.

Centered within them is 1776, commemorating the year the Declaration of Independence was adopted.

Combined with the flowing flag design and natural hardwood construction, the result is a distinctive piece of American-inspired wall art that blends history, craftsmanship, and modern CNC woodworking.

Built From Hardwood — Not Plywood

We chose European beech and walnut specifically for this piece.

European beech provides a beautiful light natural tone and tight grain that contrasts exceptionally well against the dark carved field.

Walnut adds warmth, depth, and richness to the surrounding frame.

The natural wood grain remains visible throughout the design, which is exactly what makes each flag unique.

Knots, grain patterns, slight color variations, and other natural characteristics are part of working with real wood and should not be considered defects.

They're part of your flag's individual character.

Each 1776 Heritage Wavy Flag is individually made rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf.

Because of the extensive CNC carving, finishing, and woodworking involved, production times may vary depending on our current order volume.
